Description

Jadeite with highly saturated colours often display beautiful colours but lack in translucency. With good translucency, light is able to diffuse into the jadeite which results in an aqueous, watery look. This pair of natural Type A lavender jade earrings is a fine example of a combination of vivid saturated colour and good translucency. The lustrous polish, due to a dense crystal aggregate structure, accentuates the smooth dewy look.

Measuring about 7mm in both length and width, the matching pair of jadeite cabochons has a very proportionate dome shape due to their thickness at around 3mm. The 2 domed cabochons have a smooth rounded top as a result. Translucency of the jadeite is visible despite the thickness of the jadeite cabochons.

Lavender hues in jadeite are known to be hard to capture accurately and typically are more vivid in photographs. Different angles and varying lighting conditions greatly affect the colours displayed.
